Thanks to Dr. William Hobbs who judged the preliminary rounds of a Louder than a Bomb poetry slam with the likes of O Miami’s P. Scott Cunningham and FMU’s Ericka McKinney. South Florida’s high schools have so much talent!
The FMU Office of Financial Aid hosted 70 attendees from Colleges in South Florida for Department of Education training. The Department of Education and workshop attendees to expressed appreciation to Florida Memorial University for its hospitality. I received complimentary remarks on the campus grounds, the delicious food that was served, and general comments that Florida Memorial appeared to be on the “move”. Congratulations to all who participated – job well done!
Many thanks to the Men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., for assisting us during the Legacy Lecture As always your service was impeccable!
The joint was jumpin’ last week at the LRCPA. FMU music students were turnt! Two of our young talented lions were featured in their Senior Music Recitals. Aaron Marcus Payne and Kianna Sanders thrilled audiences on Tuesday and Wednesday night, respectively, with their amazing talents. Aaron wowed the Tuesday night crowd with his vocal, guitar (acoustic and electric), and drumming skills. On Wednesday night Kianna entertained her audience with her vocal covers ranging from Kanye West to Billie Holiday. They were accompanied by a cadre of equally talented performers including Diana Covington, Alexis Howard, Ja’quan Hunter, Corey Jones, Larren Mellerson, Danielle Payton, and Hubert Phanord. Bravo! Arron and Kianna.
